Pakistan's Mohammad Irfan scripts this unique record

    What's the story

T20 has always been considered as the batsman's format, where the fans usually flock to see the big sixes.

However, Pakistan's Mohammad Irfan has proved our notions wrong by bowling the most economic spell ever in the history of the format.

The player, who plays for the Barbados Tridents in the Caribbean Premier League, bowled his four-over quota and conceded just one run.

    Match details

How did the fixture turn out?

Even though, Irfan bowled the most economic spell, his team didn't clinch the match as they succumbed to St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Not only did he give away only a solitary run, Irfan also picked up wickets of Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis.

Tridents had put up a total of 147 which was chased down by St Kitts with seven balls remaining.

    Quote

Irfan's joy has subsided over his team's loss

After the match, Mohammad Irfan said, "I would've been happier if the team won, but I am happy that I bowled one of the best spells in T20 cricket". He added that he gets extra bounce for his height and that is an added advantage.

    Table

How does the Caribbean Premier League table look?

After this match, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have reached the second position in the CPL league table.

On the other hand, Barbados Tridents are second to last.

Jamaica Tallawahs lead the table with eight points from 7 matches, whereas St Kitts have 6 points after five matches.

This is the second loss for the Tridents in the series.
