The player of the match shared a commanding 145-run stand with Jason Roy (72) in England's second innings. Roy scored a fifty in his debut Test.
Woakes and Broad shine for England
Woakes registered his best career bowling figures in Test cricket. This was his third five-wicket haul in a Test innings. He also raced to 78 Test scalps. Broad picked up seven wickets in the match. He now has 444 career Test wickets to his name.
Murtagh was superb for Ireland in the first innings
Tim Murtagh shined for Ireland with figures of 5/13 in the first innings. He registered the feat at 37 years and 356 days. This is the oldest by a Test pacer since Courtney Walsh (6/61 v South Africa at Port-of-Spain). Walsh was aged 38 years 141 days and achieved the mark on 20 March, 2001. Murtagh's tally is the second cheapest five-for against England.

England's 85 versus Ireland is their fourth lowest completed total in Test history at Lord's. Their lowest scores here are 53 and 62 versus Australia in 1888 and 77 versus Australia in 1997.
