IPL: Shreyas Iyer has fallen to these bowlers most times
Kolkata Knight Riders became the first side to reach the IPL 2024 playoffs after beating Mumbai Indians. KKR, who reached the IPL playoffs for the eighth time, are set to finish as the table-toppers. Their skipper Shreyas Iyer would want to keep their streak alive. However, his batting form once again needs a kick-start. Here are the bowlers to have dismissed Iyer most times.
Andre Russell: 5 dismissals
Only one batter has managed to dismiss Iyer more than thrice in the IPL. He is none other than Andre Russell, who plays for the Knight Riders alongside Iyer. Notably, the Indian batter was part of Delhi Capitals before joining KKR. Russell has dismissed Iyer five times, having restricted his strike-rate to a mere 116.66 in the IPL.
Rahul Chahar: 3 dismissals
Iyer, who struggles against the short-pitched deliveries, is known to go all out against spinners. However, Indian spinner Rahul Chahar has dominated Iyer in four IPL innings. Iyer has fallen to Chahar thrice with just 7 runs off 15 balls under his belt. Iyer's strike-rate when facing Chahar falls to a paltry 46.66. His average reads 2.33.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar: 3 dismissals
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is another Indian bowler who has perturbed Iyer in the IPL. Bhuvi, who swings the ball both ways, has dismissed Iyer thrice in 10 innings. The KKR batter clearly struggles against Bhuvneshwar as his strike-rate reads 89.79. Iyer is yet to score a maximum off Bhuvneshwar, while his tally includes four boundaries. The latter has bowled 24 dot balls.
Sandeep Sharma: 3 dismissals
Like Bhuvneshwar, Indian seamer Sandeep Sharma has removed Iyer thrice in the IPL. The Indian batter's strike-rate falls even further against Sandeep (83.92). The battle includes 47 runs off 56 balls. Iyer is yet to take Sandeep to the cleaners, however, he has found 5 boundaries. Notably, no other bowler has dismissed Iyer more than twice in the IPL.
