Rahul's sensational show in IPL 2018
Rahul had a ground-breaking IPL season in 2018, where he smashed 659 runs across 12 games at 54.91 for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). It was his maiden season with PBKS as he struck at a brilliant rate of 158.41. The tally includes six fifties with 95* being his best score. Rahul finished as the third-highest run-getter of the season.
Another 500-run campaign in 2019
Rahul had another impressive year in 2019. Having played 14 matches, the PBKS opener scored 593 runs at 53.90. His strike rate read 135.38. Rahul's maiden IPL ton also came that year as he made 100* versus Mumbai Indians. Besides this hundred, Rahul also registered six fifties. Only David Warner (692) managed more runs that year.
Rahul's record-breaking 2020 season
Rahul had a record-breaking IPL season in 2020 where he smashed 670 runs from 14 matches at an average of 55.83. Rahul, who led PBKS that season, bagged the Orange Cap. His strike rate of 129.34 was on the lower side as the tally includes five fifties and a ton. Rahul's highest IPL score also came that year, 132* versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Over 600 runs in 2021
Rahul was the third-highest run-scorer in IPL 2021. The then Punjab Kings captain racked up 626 runs from 14 matches at an average of 62.60. He managed to hit six fifties that season with the best score of 98*. He had a strike rate of 138.80. Rahul left the PBKS camp after the 2021 edition and joined LSG in 2022.
Another dream year in 2022
The 2022 season saw Rahul become the first player to complete 600 runs in four IPL seasons. In his maiden stint with LSG, the batter scored 616 runs from 15 matches at 51.33. His strike rate of 135.38 was decent as the tally included four half-centuries and a couple of tons. His run tally was only second to Jos Buttler (863).
Rahul finished the 2024 season with 520 runs
Rahul blew hot and cold in the 2024 IPL. He finished the campaign with 520 runs across 14 matches at a decent average of 37.14. His strike rate of 136.12 came under the scanner as he hammered four half-centuries in the season. While he finished as LSG's highest run-getter, Nicholas Pooran was behind him with 499 runs.
