The Kings breached CSK's Chepauk fortress after chasing down 163 in 17.5 overs. With this, PBKS registered their fifth successive win against CSK in the IPL. PBKS, who conceded a 64-run opening stand after electing to field, reduced CSK to 70/3. Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar choked CSK thereafter, denying them boundaries. Ruturaj Gaikwad's valiant 62 powered CSK to 162/7. PBKS suffered an early blow in the form of Prabhsimran Singh, but Jonny Bairstow (46) and Rilee Rossouw (43) made up. Sam Curran and Shashank Singh later got PBKS home.

As mentioned, PBKS now have the joint-most consecutive victories against CSK in the IPL. They share this record with Mumbai Indians, who did this between 2018 and 2019. Notably, PBKS haven't lost an IPL game to CSK since October 2021. The Super Kings last defeated PBKS in April 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. They won by six wickets.
Second-most IPL wins against CSK at Chepauk
Over the years, CSK haven't let many sides consistently beat them on their home ground, the MA Chidambaram Stadium, also known as Chepauk. Notably, PBKS now have the second-most IPL wins by a visiting team against CSK at Chepauk. With four wins, they are only behind MI (5). PBKS overtook Kolkata Knight Riders, who own three victories in this regard.
