Before the CSK-PBKS match at Chepauk, MI held the record for winning the most successive matches against the Super Kings in the IPL. They beat CSK in five matches on the trot between 2018 and 2019. Notably, MI won four matches against CSK in IPL 2019, including Qualifier 1 and the final. MI beat CSK in the final to claim their fourth IPL title.
Punjab Kings: 5 (2021-2024*)
As mentioned, PBKS now have the joint-most consecutive victories against CSK in the IPL (5). Notably, PBKS haven't lost an IPL game to CSK since October 2021. The Super Kings last defeated PBKS in April 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. They won by six wickets. Besides, PBKS now have the second-most IPL wins by a visiting team against CSK at Chepauk (4).
Delhi Capitals: 4 (2020-2021)
Between 2020 and 2021, Delhi Capitals won four matches on the bounce against CSK. Notably, 2020 marked the first-ever IPL edition where CSK failed to reach the playoffs. They finished seventh, losing most of their matches. Therefore, the Capitals defeated CSK twice that season. Although CSK bounced back to win the title in 2021, they remained winless against DC, having lost two games.

Like DC, Rajasthan Royals have also won four consecutive matches against CSK in the IPL. The Royals did so between 2021 and 2023. In fact, RR are unbeaten against the Super Kings in their last four encounters. They won one match in 2021, another in 2022, and two in 2023. The two sides are yet to clash in their only league-stage encounter this season.
