Indian legends like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who rose to prominence in the IPL, have stamped their authority on their home grounds. While Kohli rules the roost at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Rohit shines at Wankhede. Here are the batters with most IPL runs on a ground.
Virat Kohli: M Chinnaswamy Stadium
Kohli, the leading run-getter in the IPL, has slammed 7,579 runs at 38.27. The tally includes as many as eight tons. The RCB batter has smashed 2,882 of these runs on his home ground, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. He has the most IPL runs by a player at a venue. As many as four of Kohli's IPL tons have come here.
Rohit Sharma: Wankhede Stadium
Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit follows Kohli on this list, with 2,069 IPL runs at the Wankhede Stadium. Although Rohit hasn't scored a ton here, he has given MI some formidable starts. He averages 32.84 and has a strike rate of 134.70 in the cash-rich league at Wankhede. The tally includes 193 fours and 85 sixes in this regard.
AB de Villiers: M Chinnaswamy Stadium
Throughout his career, RCB's AB de Villiers was at his absolute best at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Bengaluru crowd often witnessed de Villiers' iconic paddle sweeps. De Villiers racked up 1,960 runs at a staggering strike rate of 161.18 at this venue in Bengaluru. He averaged 43.55 in this regard, while his tally includes 118 sixes and 155 fours.
David Warner: Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium
David Warner loved batting at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium during his stint with the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The left-handed batter has scored 1,623 runs from 32 matches at an incredible average of 64.92 in the IPL at this venue. Warner also has a healthy strike rate in this regard (160.53).
