The dashing batter 32-ball 89, now the joint-fastest IPL half-century for SRH. Notably, Head slammed 84 of his runs in the Powerplay, now the second-highest individual score in this regard. Suresh Raina: 87 runs vs PBKS, IPL 2014
Suresh Raina's breathtaking 87(25) against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the IPL 2014 Qualifier 2 is rated one of his best knocks. Although CSK lost by 24 runs while chasing 227, Raina's blitz made headlines. His 87 is still the highest individual score in the first six overs in the IPL. Raina struck at 348, also the highest in this regard.
Travis Head: 84 runs vs DC, IPL 2024
Head smashed 89 off 32 balls (11 fours and 6 sixes) against DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in IPL 2024. Head, alongside Abhishek Sharma, powered SRH to 125/0 in six overs, the highest individual Powerplay score for SRH in the IPL. Head contributed with a 26-ball 84 in the first six overs, now the second-most by a batter.
Adam Gilchrist: 74 runs vs DC, IPL 2009
Adam Gilchrist remains the only other batter with over 70 runs in the Powerplay of an IPL innings. He smashed 74 off 25 balls for Deccan Chargers against Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in IPL 2009 in Centurion. Gilchrist played a captain's knock for the Chargers (a 35-ball 85) as they chased down 154 in 17.4 overs.
Ishan Kishan: 63 runs vs SRH, IPL 2021
Mumbai Indians opener Ishan Kishan occupies the fourth spot on this list. The left-handed batter hammered a 32-ball 84 in the IPL 2021 encounter against SRH in Abu Dhabi. As many as 63 of Ishan's runs came in the first six overs, where he faced just 22 balls. He smacked 2 sixes and 10 fours in this phase.
