    What's the story

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) trade window got shut down on Friday ahead of the auction next month, we also saw franchises release players.

Royal Challengers Bangalore released a total of 12 players.

They will hope to find a new strategy in the auction.

Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad released five players each.

    Here are the complete details.

    SRH and CSK

SRH release some big names, CSK free fringe players

SRH were forced to release Shakib Al Hasan after the player was earlier banned by the ICC for not reporting corrupt approaches.

The all-rounder was joined by veteran batsman Yusuf Pathan.

Meanwhile, the franchises also released Deepak Hooda, Ricky Bhui and Martin Guptill.

Separately, CSK went on to release the likes of Mohit Sharma, David Willey, Dhruv Shorey, Sam Billings and Chaitanya Bishnoi.

    DC

DC let go off star foreign names

Delhi Capitals, who roped in Indian stars Ajinkya Rahane and R Ashwin in the trade window, released a host of names.

The major highlight was seeing the likes of foreigners Chris Morris, Colin Ingram and Colin Munro.

Besides these three, Ankush Bains, B Ayyappa, Hanuma Vihari, Jalaj Saxena, Manjot Kalra and Nathu Singh were released as well.

DC have had a busy period.

    KKR

The biggest move was to release Chris Lynn.

The Aussie has been a major force atop for KKR.

Besides Lynn, veterans Piyush Chawla and Robin Uthappa were released as well.

All-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, who was a mega signing last season, was let go off as well.
