Lucknow Super Giants youngster Ayush Badoni played a valiant knock of an unbeaten 55 against the Delhi Capitals in match number 26 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season on Friday. LSG were 57/2 after six overs before being reduced to 94/7. However, Badoni foiled DC, adding an unbeaten 73-run stand alongside Arshad Khan (20*). This is now a record eighth-wicket stand.

The duo broke the previous best tally of 69 runs between James Faulkner and Brad Hodge for the Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians in 2014. Overall, this is the eighth instance of 50-plus stands for the 8th wicket in the cash-rich league.
