IPL 2022 Auction: KKR get back Nitish Rana
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction on Saturday saw Indian batter Nitish Rana be bought by Kolkata Knight Riders. The Knights spent a whopping Rs. 8 crore for the services of Rana. The southpaw was released by KKR earlier and they have got him back. Rana will aim to show his pedigree for KKR. He is well settled in the KKR set-up.

Rana's IPL numbers
Nitish Rana has played 77 games in IPL and accumulated 1,820 runs at 28.00. He has notched up 13 fifties in the tournament. In IPL 2021, Rana played 17 games and scored 383 runs while maintain a strike rate of 121.97. The 28-year-old averaged 29.46 during the previous edition of the league. He also struck two half-centuries.
KKR had retained these players
Ahead of the IPL 2022 auction, KKR had retained four players, two overseas and as many Indians. They retained West Indian star Andre Russell for Rs. 12 crore and paid Rs. 8 crore to acquire Venkatesh Iyer's services. They retained Indian spinner Varun Chakravarthy (Rs. 8 crore), besides keeping the veteran Sunil Narine for Rs. 6 crore.
Rana knows KKR well
Rana has been an established player in the IPL of late and KKR trust his abilities. He has been a good servant for the eastern giants and adds a lot of dynamism. There is a lot of familiarity in this KKR side with Rana's return.
