IPL 2022 Auction: Mitchell Marsh sold to Delhi Capitals
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction on Saturday saw Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh be bought by Delhi Capitals. Lucknow spent Rs. 6.5 crore for the services of Marsh. The senior cricketer had pulled out of IPL 2021. Marsh will aim to show his pedigree for DC with both bat and ball. He impressed in the Big Bash League.

Marsh made his IPL debut in 2010 for Deccan Chargers. He also represented Rising Pune Supergiants later on. Even after a decade, he has managed to play just 21 IPL games. Marsh has scored 225 runs and taken 20 wickets as of now. The 30-year-old was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2020 IPL, however, he played only one game due to an injury
Marsh's T20 career
In a career spanning over a decade, Marsh has played as many as 137 T20 matches. He has smashed 3,241 runs at an average of 34.11. The right-handed batter has a strike rate of 129.12 in the shortest format. Marsh has hammered 225 fours and 140 sixes so far. The tally includes one century and 20 fifties.
T20 WC final: Player of the Match
Marsh was the Player of the Match in the 2021 T20 World Cup final. He smashed a scintillating 77 off 50 balls, guiding Australia to victory against New Zealand. Australia chased down 173 to win their maiden T20 World Cup final.
