IPL 2022 Auction: Jason Roy sold to Gujarat Titans
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction on Saturday saw England batter Jason Roy be bought by Gujarat Titans. The Titans spent Rs. 2 crore for the services of Roy. Roy was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier. Roy will aim to show his pedigree for GT in the top-order. He had earlier played for the Delhi Capitals as well.
A look at Roy's IPL journey
Roy played a handful of games in the IPL 2017 for Gujarat Lions. He moved to Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2018. Roy was bought by the Capitals in the 2020 season as well. Sunrisers Hyderabad signed him as a replacement for Mitchell Marsh n the 2021 season. And now, Roy will represent the Titans.

Jason Roy has played just 13 games in IPL and amassed 329 runs. He averages 29.91 in the tournament and has maintained the strike rate of 129.02. The Brit has struck two half-centuries in the cash-rich league. Roy played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021. He scored 150 runs in five games at 30 with the help of one fifty.
Titans had drafted these players earlier
Gujarat Titans drafted three players in their squad before the start of the auction. Titans' first pick was ace Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. They acquired Hardik's services for Rs. 15 crore. He will also lead the side during the upcoming edition. Titans are paying Rs. 15 crore to Afghan spin wizard Rashid Khan. Their third pick was Shubman Gill (Rs. 8 crore).
