IPL 2022 Auction: Cummins bought by KKR
Kolkata Knight Riders got back Australian pace spearhead Pat Cummins in the IPL 2022 Auction on Saturday. Cummins, who played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2021 season, earned a whopping deal of Rs. 7.25 crore. Cummins was released by KKR after the 2021 season. He is the captain of Australia's Test side at the moment. Here's more.

KKR get Cummins for a relatively lesser amount
Cummins was earlier bought by KKR during the IPL 2020 auction for a staggering Rs. 15.50 crore. And now, they have got the same player for a relatively lesser sum. He has played 37 IPL games and picked 38 wickets at 30.13. He has struck two half-centuries as well. He bagged nine wickets in IPL 2021 in seven games at an average of 26.33.
Cummins could miss the first two weeks
Cummins could miss the first two weeks of the IPL 2022 season as Australia are slated to travel to Pakistan for a multi-format tour. Australia's Pakistan tour will get concluded on April 5 and given that the 15th edition of IPL is slated to start in the last week of March, he could miss the first few games.
How do KKR look like?
Ahead of the IPL auction, KKR had retained four players, two overseas and as many Indians. They retained Andre Russell for Rs. 12 crore and paid Rs. 8 crore to acquire Venkatesh Iyer's services. They retained Varun Chakravarthy (Rs. 8 crore), besides keeping the veteran Sunil Narine for Rs. 6 crore. KKR have bought Shreyas Iyer for Rs. 12.25 crore in the auction today.
