Ashwin eyes 200-wicket mark
Ashwin, who made his IPL debut in 2009, has taken 180 wickets from 212 games at an average of 29.82. His tally includes a a four-wicket haul.
He would be aiming for the 200-wicket mark in the upcoming season.
Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal remains the only player with this feat so far (205 wickets).
Ashwin currently has the joint fifth-most IPL wickets with Sunil Narine.

Pursuit of playing 100 matches for CSK
As mentioned, Ashwin will play for the Super Kings after a decade. He has featured in 97 encounters for them in cash-rich league.
Ashwin is set to join an elite list of players to have played over 100 IPL matches for the Yellow Army.
MS Dhoni (234), Suresh Raina (176), Ravindra Jadeja (172), and Dwayne Bravo (116) are ahead of Ashwin.

In the 18th IPL season, Ashwin could become the first player with over 50 wickets at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium. He currently owns 50 scalps from 43 matches at 20.48 here.
Ashwin is also set to become the first spinner with 50 wickets in the Powerplay (IPL). With 49 wickets at 27.61, he tops this list.
