Mohit Sharma and Rashid Khan take 10-plus scalps
GT's bowling was a let down in 2024. Veteran pacer Mohit Sharma was the highest wicket-taker with 13 scalps at 32.69. However, his economy rate was a staggering 10.89. Ace spinner Rashid Khan finished his moderate campaign with 10 wickets at 36.70 (ER: 8.40). Meanwhile, pacer Umesh Yadav and spinner Noor Ahmad claimed eight scalps each for the franchise at 26.25 and 36.25 respectively.
These bowlers claimed four-wicket hauls
Sai Kishore and Joshua Little managed to take four-wicket hauls for GT this season. Kishore managed 4/33 against Punjab Kings. Meanwhile, Irish pacer Little played a solitary match. He took 4/45 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Most runs condeded in IPL history
On April 24, Mohit made an unwanted record against Delhi Capitals in Match 40. Mohit, who conceded 73 runs in four overs, recorded the most expensive spell in the IPL history. Mohit went past Basil Thampi, who conceded 70 runs off four overs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2018 for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Notably, Rishabh Pant (88*) hit Mohit for seven sixes and three fours.
GT's highest partnership for any wicket in the IPL
Gill and Sudharsan added a 210-run stand versus Chennai Super Kings on May 10 (Match 59). This became GT's highest partnership for any wicket in the competition's history. The previous best was 147 runs added between the pair for the second wicket against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ahmedabad. This was also GT's maiden century-plus stand against CSK.
Gill became youngest captains with an IPL ton
Gill became the youngest captain to slam a ton in the cash-rich league. He attained the feat at 24 years and 245 days. Gill smacked a 55-ball 104 against CSK. His knock was laced with 9 fours and 6 sixes. Gill broke the record of RR ace Sanju Samson, who struck a ton aged 26 years and 152 days.
