Delhi Capitals: Decoding their IPL 2024 season in stats

Fraser-McGurk and Stubbs are the future
DC have two quality overseas youngsters in Jake Fraser-McGurk and Tristan Stubbs. These two batters could be the face of DC for years to come. Fraser-McGurk scored 330 runs at 36.66 from nine matches. He smashed four half-centuries. The Australian hit 28 sixes for the Capitals. South Africa's Stubbs managed 378 runs from 14 matches at 54 (50s: 3). He smoked 26 sixes.
Fraser-McGurk attained these massive feats
Fraser-McGurk struck at a jaw-dropping rate of 234.04. As per ESPNcricinfo, no other batter with at least 300 IPL runs has a strike rate of even 180. Fraser-McGurk completed his fifty off 15 balls on two occasions against Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad (fastest for DC). He is also the only batter with multiple IPL fifties in 15 balls or fewer.
DC registered their highest IPL score
DC scored five totals of 200-plus in IPL 2024. The Capitals registered their highest IPL total ever when they smashed 257/4 versus Mumbai Indians on April 27 in Match 43. Their previous-highest score was 231/4 versus Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in 2011. Four of their top five scores in IPL 2024 came at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Three bowlers with 15-plus scalps
DC saw three of their bowlers manage 15-plus wickets in IPL 2024. Pacer Mukesh Kumar led the way with 17 wickets from 10 matches at 21.64. Left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed took 17 wickets from 14 matches at 28.17. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav bagged 16 scalps from 11 matches at 23.25. He was the only DC bowler with a four-wicket haul or more (4/55).
Nortje scripted this unwanted record
Pacer Anrich Nortje conceded 2/65 versus MI on April 7 at the Wankhede. He bowled the costliest spell by a DC bowler in IPL history. Nortje also holds the record of the fifth-costilest spell bowled by an overseas player in the tournament.
DC managed two century-plus stands in IPL 2024
DC posted two century-plus stands in IPL 2024. Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel added 114 runs for the opening wicket versus MI in Delhi on April 27. Axar Patel and Pant added 113 runs for the 4th wicket versus Gujarat on April 24 in Delhi.
