Punjab Kings stunned Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Match 42 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season on Friday. KKR posted a massive score of 261/6 in 20 overs. Phil Salt and Sunil Narine hit fifties. In response, Punjab floored the Knights, riding on some brilliant hitting from the likes of Prabhsimran Singh, Jonny Bairstow and Shashank Singh.
KKR smash their second-highest team total in IPL history
KKR smashed their second-highest team total in the IPL history. The Knights had earlier hit 272/7 in the IPL this season and have now surpassed the 250-run mark for the second time. KKR recorded the highest team total against Punjab. They broke a score of 257/5 registered by Lucknow Super Giants against PBKS in 2023. KKR also hold the 3rd-highest score against Punjab (245/6).
