IPL 2024: DC and MI seek turnaround in fortunes
We are in the second half of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) as teams in the bottom half of the table must bounce back sooner rather than later. Match 43 sees Delhi Capitals take on Mumbai Indians. Both teams have had underwhelming campaigns with DC managing four wins in nine outings and MI claiming three wins in eight fixtures. Here is the preview.
Pitch report and streaming details
Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium will host this game on April 27. The venue has already witnessed a couple of high-scoring games this season. As the ground usually offers pitches that contain low bounce, spinners have a key role to play. Star Sports will telecast the match, and fans can also live-stream it on JioCinema for free (3:30pm IST).
A look at the head-to-head record
Both teams have played each other a total of 34 times, and it has mostly been very close encounters. MI have the upper hand with 19 victories, but DC isn't far away with their 15 wins. Hardik Pandya's team thrashed DC by 29 runs at the Wankhede Stadium earlier this season. While several batters contributed for MI, Gerald Coetzee claimed 4/34.
Which side will come on top?
MI have been majorly let down by their bowlers as Jasprit Bumrah has lacked support from the other end. Most of their batters, however, have been in terrific form though Hardik has had a lean run. Rishabh Pant, meanwhile, has led DC from the front. All-rounder Axar Patel has also done well. Their pace unit has been an area of concern.
