Stoinis rescues LSG before going all out
LSG's run-chase had a forgettable start as de Kock departed without scoring. Rahul followed him after smashing 16. Stoinis, who came in at three, somehow kept LSG alive, though his partner Devdutt Padikkal struggled at the other end. Stoinis then went all out, with Pooran's cameo supporting him. The former unleashed his onslaught when LSG required 47 off 18 balls.
How Stoinis' maiden ton got LSG home
From needing 47 from 18 balls, Stoinis took the equation down to 17 off the final over. He found boundaries off Mustafizur Rahman's first four deliveries, including a no-ball (1 six and 3 fours). Deepak Hooda (17* off 6 balls) too assisted Stoinis, who completed a 56-ball ton in the 18th over. The latter smashed a 63-ball 124* (13 fours and 6 sixes).
Highest individual score in IPL run-chases
Stoinis, with his exploits, recorded the highest individual score in IPL run-chases. He broke the record of India's Paul Valthaty, who smashed an unbeaten 120 for Punjab Kings (PBKS) against CSK in 2011. The latter helped PBKS chase down 189 in Mohali. Notably, Stoinis and Valthaty are the only two player with 120 or more runs in this regard.
Stoinis attains these feats
