Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set for their debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL), starting March 26. The two newly-added franchises, LSG and Gujarat Titans, will face each other in their tournament opener two days later at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. KL Rahul, who was earlier associated with Punjab Kings, will lead Lucknow in the upcoming season. Here, we decode LSG's squad and schedule.

LSG have invested in several marquee players
LSG's biggest signing at the IPL 2022 Auction was Avesh Khan (Rs. 10 crore). Lucknow shelled out Rs. 8.75 crore for Jason Holder and are paying Rs. 8.25 crore to Krunal Pandya. They signed Quinton de Kock for Rs. 6.75 crore and roped in Mark Wood for Rs. 7.50 crore. However, the latter has been ruled out of the tournament (elbow injury).
KL Rahul to lead LSG
Rahul, who was brought by Punjab Kings in the 2018 auction, led them for two seasons (2020 and 2021). As captain, he won 11 and lost 14 games (two decided through Super Over). He went on to become PBKS' leading run-scorer (2,548 runs at 56.62). However, the franchise couldn't reach the playoffs even once in his reign. A fresh stint with LSG awaits Rahul!
