Indian Premier League: SRH's Kane Williamson fined for slow over-rate
Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson has been fined for slow over-rate during his side's key clash against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). On Tuesday, SRH suffered a massive defeat against a strong RR outfit and to add to that, Williamson will now be paying a sum of Rs. 12 lakh for slow over-rate maintained by his team. Here's more.
RR beat SRH comfortably
RR openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 58 runs for the first wicket. RR lost both players with the score reading 75/2. Samson and Devdutt Padikkal added 73 runs for the third wicket. Shimron Hetmyer helped RR post 210/6. RR pace duo of Boult and Krishna ripped apart SRH. SRH were 9/3 and didn't recover. They managed 149/7 in 20 overs.
'Sunrisers Hyderabad have been fined'
A statement issued by IPL confirmed SRH's offence. "The Sunrisers Hyderabad have been fined after they maintained a slow over-rate during their IPL 2022 match against Rajasthan Royals at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on March 29," a statement read.

The statement added that Williamson was fined Rs. 12 lakh. "As it was the team's first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson was fined Rs 12 lakhs."
