IPL 2022, Jos Buttler smashes 100 versus MI: Key numbers
Rajasthan Royals saw opener Jos Buttler smash a brilliant century versus Mumbai Indians in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday. Buttler ripped apart the MI bowlers, scoring 100 from just 68 balls. He scored the bulk of runs for RR and that saw them set a target of 194 for MI. Here are Buttler's key numbers.
First century of IPL 2022
Buttler has registered the first century of IPL 2022. He had a brilliant strike rate of 147.06. This is now his second century in the IPL. As per Cricketpedia, this is also his second ton in last three IPL innings. Notably, Buttler's maiden IPL ton came against Sunrisers Hyderabad in May 2021 (124 off 64).
Why does this story matter?
This was a vintage Buttler show at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai. The stylish Englishman made batting look easy. Buttler enjoyed himself in the middle, smashing 11 fours and five sixes. He smashed Basil Thampi for 26 runs in an over. Buttler would have liked someone to carry on and stay until the end on a dream batting surface.
