The Delhi-based franchise will aim to win their maiden IPL title, under Rishabh Pant.

Buys
David Warner set to open for DC
Delhi's biggest buy at the IPL 2022 Auction was Shardul Thakur (Rs. 10.75 crore).
DC snapped up swashbuckling Australia opener David Warner for Rs. 6.25 crore.
They have found a perfect replacement for Marcus Stoinis in Mitchell Marsh. They spent Rs. 6.50 crore to acquire Marsh's services.
However, both Warner and Marsh might miss the initial games due to the ongoing Pakistan tour.
Pant
DC management keeps the faith in Pant
Rishabh Pant led DC in the 2021 season in place of Shreyas Iyer.
The latter was ruled out of the first phase of the tournament, held in March-April, due to an injury.
Considering Pant's success, the DC management retained him as captain for the second phase as well (September-October).
Under Pant, DC topped the points table last season (20 points).
Warner
Warner played for DC before joining the Orange Army
Warner was axed as captain by Sunrisers Hyderabad midway through the 2021 season.
However, he attained a significant feat in the India leg.
The Australian opener became the first-ever batter to register 50 half-centuries in the IPL.
Warner also completed 10,000 runs in T20 cricket.
He will now ply his trade for DC, a franchise he made his IPL debut for, in 2009.
