IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans: Squad, schedule, and stats
Gujarat Titans (GT) are set for their debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL), starting March 26. The two newly-added franchises, GT and Lucknow Super Giants, will face each other in their tournament opener two days later at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Lockie Ferguson will feature for Gujarat this year
Gujarat Titans' biggest signing at the IPL 2022 Auction was New Zealand pace spearhead Lockie Ferguson (Rs. 10 crore). They also signed Indian all-rounder Rahul Tewatia for Rs. 9 crore and spent Rs. 6.25 crore on Mohammed Shami. Gujarat bought England opener Jason Roy for Rs. 2 crore, however, he has pulled out of the tournament. Gujarat roped in Rahmanullah Gurbaz as a replacement.
Hardik Pandya to lead Gujarat Titans
Swashbuckling all-rounder Hardik Pandya was drafted by the Gujarat franchise for the 15th IPL edition (Rs. 15 crore). He will lead the franchise this season. Hardik was a part of the Mumbai setup for seven years. He made his IPL debut in 2015, having aggregated 1,476 runs from 92 matches at 27.33. The all-rounder also owns 42 wickets (best match haul of 3/20).
