IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals restrict Delhi Capitals to 147/8
A valiant effort by the bowlers helped Rajasthan Royals restrict Delhi Capitals to 147/8 in the seventh game at Wankhede. Fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat snapped up three wickets to dent the plight of Capitals in the powerplay. Although Rishabh Pant's counter-attacking knock turned the tide for DC at one stage, his untimely run-out led to further disappointment. Here is the mid-innings report.
DC lost three wickets in the powerplay
The RR bowlers were on the charge in the powerplay. Pace spearhead Unadkat, who was roped in for the game, completely dominated the batsmen. He dismissed both Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan in successive overs. In his very next over, Unadkat got rid of top-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane. As a result, the Delhi Capitals managed only 36/3 in the first six overs.

RR deployed three left-arm pacers
The Royals used an interesting tactic against DC in the match. They used three left-arm pace bowlers to deal with DC's batting line-up. The likes of Unadkat, Chetan Sakariya and Mustafizur Rahman bowled quite a few slower deliveries to outfox the batsmen throughout.
The pick of RR bowlers
The inclusion of Unadkat turned out to be fruitful for the Royals. His transitory variations duly puzzled the Delhi batsmen. Notably, he completed his quota of four overs in the 11th over of innings. Unadkat remained the pick of RR bowlers in the match. He picked up three wickets for 15 runs, and registered an impressive economy rate of 3.80.
Pant slammed his 13th half-century
Pant made a brief recovery for Capitals after they lost four quick wickets. He continued with his onslaught even though the RR bowlers dominated. Leading from the front, Pant brought up his 13th half-century in the 12th over. However, an unfortunate run-out by Riyan Parag ended his innings. The DC innings saw another decline after Pant departed.
