IPL 2021: Records which Dwayne Bravo can break this season
The 14th edition of IPL is set to commence on April 9. Chennai Super Kings, who couldn't claim the playoffs berth last year, have already begun preparations for the impending season. Like every season, Champion DJ Bravo will be a vital cog for them. He has been faring well in the T20 leagues lately. Here are the records he can break in IPL 2021.
A look at his IPL career
Dwayne Bravo has been one of the most prolific fast-bowling all-rounders in the IPL. His deceptive slower deliveries has outfoxed the greatest of batsmen. Bravo, who has represented Mumbai Indians and CSK, owns 153 wickets at 24.81 in the cash-rich league. The tally includes a best match haul of 4/22. Meanwhile, Bravo also 1,490 runs to his name with 5 fifties.
Bravo could become the leading wicket-taker among pacers
At the moment, Bravo (153) is the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He is only behind Lasith Malinga (170), Piyush Chawla (160) and Amit Mishra (156) in terms of wickets. Bravo requires 18 scalps to become the leading wicket-taker among fast bowlers in the IPL. Since Malinga won't be featuring the upcoming edition, Bravo remains the favorite to do so.
The double of 1,500 runs and 150 wickets
Bravo is set to become the only player in the history of IPL to register the double of 1,500 runs and 150 wickets. He is only 10 runs away from the historic milestone. Meanwhile, he is also set to play his 150th IPL game.
A look at the other records he could break
Bravo has been a veteran for Chennai Super Kings for nearly a decade. In the upcoming season, he (95) could become only the fourth player after MS Dhoni (174), Suresh Raina (164) and Ravindra Jadeja (116) to play 100 matches for them. Bravo already owns most wickets (110) for them. Moreover, he (934) is also set to complete 1,000 runs for CSK this season.
