IPL 2021: Maxwell, ABD help RCB post 204/4 vs KKR
The Royal Challengers Bangalore rode on a superb fifty by Glenn Maxwell to post 204/4 against Kolkata Knight Riders in match number 10 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season on Sunday. KKR had a strong start but Maxwell changed the game in RCB's favor at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. RCB will be the happier side going into the break. Here's more.
RCB manage 45/2 in the PP overs
RCB lost two quick wickets in the form of Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar to be reeling at 9/2 after two overs. From there on, a watchful Devdutt Padikkal and an aggressive Glenn Maxwell took charge. The two batsmen added 36 runs in the next four overs. The in-form Maxwell hit some crucial boundaries as KKR failed to get another wicket.

After getting scores of 39 and 59 in the first two games, Aussie all-rounder Maxwell played another solid knock. He brought up his second successive fifty. The senior cricketer smacked Shakib Al Hasan to hit his first boundary. He attacked the spinner in his next over too. Maxwell also punished Chakravarthy and Pat Cummins. He hit a 28-ball half-century, finishing on 78.

AB de Villiers came in when the score read 95/3 and he looked positive from the start. The veteran T20 legend rotated the strike well before freeing his arms. He smashed Chakravarthy and Prasidh for successive fours in back-to-back overs and got into his groove. He also brought up his fifty in 27 balls and helped RCB finish on a strong note.
KKR bowlers not up to the mark
The KKR bowlers didn't keep up with the momentum and were awry on Sunday. They bowled as many as three no-balls and three wides. Shakib and Cummins were off color and didn't bowl in the right areas. Their economy rate was on the higher side on a slow wicket. Chakravarthy too faded away after a strong start.
