IPL 2021, DC overcome SRH in Super Over: Records broken
The 20th match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season between between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals ended in a tie. DC, who chose to bat first, managed 159/4 in 20 overs. In reply, Kane Williamson's heroics (66*) saw SRH level the score (159/7). The match went to a Super Over as DC prevailed in the same. Here's more.
How did the match pan out?
DC got off to a strong start as the openers put up 81 for the first wicket. SRH hit back as both the players were dismissed in quick succession. Rishabh Pant and Steve Smith then added a fifty-plus stand before SRH tightened the screws at the death. In reply, SRH lost wickets at regular intervals and Kane Williamson held his fort.

In the Super Over, Axar Patel was given the duty for DC to bowl and he delivered the goods by conceding just seven runs. Williamson hit the only four in that over as he and David Warner were at the crease. SRH were penalized for a short run after having managed eight. In reply, Rashid Khan bowled for SRH but DC sealed the deal.
Dhawan gets past 250 runs in IPL 2021, Shaw shines
Shikhar Dhawan hit a 26-ball 28, registering three fours. He became the first batsman in IPL 2021 to go past 250 IPL runs (259). Dhawan, who is the third-highest run-scorer in IPL, has raced to 623 fours. Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw scored 39-ball 53. The youngster slammed his eighth IPL fifty and has 992 runs in the tournament.
Rashid Khan registers his costliest figures this season
Rashid Khan (1/31) has registered his costliest figures in a match in the 2021 season. Prior to this match, he had notched figures of 2/24, 2/18, 0/22, and 1/17. He has raced to six wickets this season and has an economy rate of 5.60. Overall, he has raced to 81 scalps in the IPL.
Bairstow gets past 1,000 IPL runs
Jonny Bairstow scored an 18-ball 38. The England international hit three fours and four sixes in a brisk innings. With his effort, Bairstow has surpassed the 1,000-run mark in the IPL. He has 1,001 runs at 43.52. Notably, he has become the fifth SRH batsman to get past 1,000 IPL runs.
Avesh and Mishra script these feats
DC pacer Avesh Khan claimed three scalps. He has become the second bowler in IPL 2021 to take 10-plus wickets (11) after Harshal Patel (15). Veteran spinner Amit Mishra (1/31) has raced to 165 wickets and is closing in on Lasith Malinga (170).
Kane Williamson hits fifty, gets past Sanga's tally
SRH batsman Kane Williamson hit a sublime fifty. This was his 16th fifty in the IPL. The Kiwi star has gone past Kumar Sangakkara (1,687) in terms of IPL runs.
