Sunrisers Hyderabad restricted the Delhi Capitals to 159/4 in match number 20 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season on Sunday. Batting first, Delhi Capitals rode on a fine fifty by Prithvi Shaw to get past 150. The SRH bowlers started on a poor note but made a comeback. The match is poised well and both teams are in it. Shaw and Dhawan add 81 for the opening wicket
DC openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan added 81 runs for the opening wicket. Shaw scored a 39-ball 53 with the help of seven fours and one six. Meanwhile, IPL 2021 Orange Cap holder Shikhar Dhawan smashed 28 from 26 balls. The duo played some solid cricket and set the base for DC. Rashid Khan dismissed Dhawan before Shaw was run out.
Pant and Smith add valuable fifty-plus stand
Skipper Pant (37) looked to be positive and played a fine innings. He smashed Rashid for two fours in the latter's final over. Rashid's figures of 1/31 is the most he has conceded this season (runs). Pant shared a good 50-plus run stand alongside senior batsman Steve Smith. Together, these two played a decent hand for the DC, adding 58 runs.
SRH bowlers do a fine job in the death overs
The SRH bowlers failed started slowly but found their way. The dismissal of Rishabh Pant came at the right time, Siddarth Kaul claimed the big fish. In the same over, Kaul dismissed Shimron Hetmyer (1). SRH managed to hold on in the death, not allowing DC to run away with the game. They conceded 43 runs in the last five overs.
Khaleel proves to be costly, Smith does well
Khaleel Ahmed, who bowled well in the previous games, was costly tonight. He gave away 42 runs, including 14 from the final over. Meanwhile, Smith showed his composure, managing to score an unbeaten 34 from 25 balls.
