Delhi Capitals ended a run of five successive defeats against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). DC beat MI in match number 13 of the IPL 2021 season on Tuesday. Batting first, MI managed 137/9 in 20 overs. Amit Mishra (4/24) was terrific with the ball. In reply, MI took the game down the wire but DC sealed victory. Here's more.
How did the match pan out?
MI lost Quinton de Kock early on before Rohit Sharma (44) and Suryakumar Yadav (24) added a fifty-plus stand. DC hit back with the spin unit delivering the goods. Pacers Avesh Khan and Kagiso Rabada did well at the death. In reply, DC saw Dhawan and Steve Smith add a crucial stand before MI struck. However, DC managed to seal victory in the end.
Rohit gets past 850 runs against DC
Rohit, who has played 199 innings in the IPL, has got 5,368 runs at 31.39. He now has 4,198 runs for MI in the IPL. He has become the second batsman to get past 850 runs against Delhi in the IPL (862). RCB skipper Virat Kohli leads the line with 897 runs. Rohit is the first batsman with 40 or more sixes against DC.
Amit Mishra scripts these feats
Mishra is now the joint-second highest wicket-taker against MI in IPL. He is also just the third bowler with 25 or more wickets against MI. Mishra registered his best bowling figures against MI (4/24). He is the first bowler for Delhi to take four scalps in a match against MI. Mishra now has 164 wickets in the competition and claimed his fourth four-wicket haul.
Notable bowling records scripted
Avesh Khan (2/15) has raced to eight wickets for DC in the IPL. He has the second-highest wickets this season after Harshal Patel (9). Kagiso Rabada (1/25) now has 65 wickets in the IPL. He has equaled the tally of former RCB and KKR star Jacques Kallis (65). Kieron Pollard claimed his 61st wicket and has equaled Mitchell Johnson's tally.
In-form Dhawan registers these feats
Dhawan became the first batsman to get past 200 runs this season (231). He struck a 42-ball 45, which included five fours and a six. He is now the second-highest run-scorer against MI in the IPL (793). Dhawan is only behind Suresh Raina (818) in this regard. Dhawan has gone past 5,400 runs and is the third player to do so (5,428).

Jasprit Bumrah extended his dominance against Rishabh Pant in the IPL. The MI stalwart has now dismissed the southpaw on six occasions. Meanwhile, JB claimed his fourth wicket this season. He now has 113 career IPL wickets.
