IPL 2021, CSK hammer RCB: Records broken
Chennai Super Kings (191/4) dished out a commendable performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore (122/9) to win match number 19 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season. With this win, CSK have moved top of the table, sealing a fourth successive win. RCB suffered their first defeat and slipped to second. Ravindra Jadeja's all-round show was the major difference. CSK thump RCB at the Wankhede
CSK were off to a strong start and the openers added 74. CSK were then reduced to 111/3 as RCB fought back. However, Ravindra Jadeja stunned RCB by smashing Harshal Patel in the 20th over. His heroics saw CSK get to 191. In reply, RCB got off to a decent start before CSK kept taking wickets. Jadeja was exceptional with the ball as well.
Sublime Faf scripts these feats
Faf du Pessis has smashed a 41-ball 50. The veteran player has surpassed the 200-run mark in IPL 2021 (214) at 71.33. He smashed his second successive fifty this season. Overall, Faf has gone past 2,500 runs in the IPL (2,516). He hit his 18th career fifty. Du Plessis now has 293 runs against RCB.
Jadeja smashes these records
CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja went berserk and smashed a 28-ball 62*. He hit four fours and five sixes. Jadeja has raced to 2,261 runs in the IPL at 26.29. He smashed only his second IPL fifty and this is now his highest score in the tournament. Jadeja claimed three scalps (3/13) and now has a tally of 119, equaling Umesh Yadav's feat.
Jadeja equals Gayle's record
Jadeja smashed 36 runs off Harshal Patel's last over. He hit four sixes, one four and a two in an over that also had a no ball. Another unique record for Jadeja
Jadeja is the first CSK player to get a 50+ score and take 3-plus wickets in an IPL match. Overall, this is the 13th instance a player has achieved this mark.
Harshal races to 15 wickets
Harshal Patel claimed three wickets for 51 runs. He is the first bowler in IPL 2021 to claim 15 wickets. He is currently the Purple Cap holder. Overall, the pacer has 61 wickets in the competition.
