IPL 2020: Complete schedule of the group stage revealed
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 group stage schedule is out. Notably, all all eight teams will be playing seven home games at their respective venues. The cash-rich tournament will start on March 29. The first encounter is set to be played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. The last group encounter is on May 17. IPL does away with Saturday double-headers
According to ESPNcricinfo, IPL has done away with the Saturday double-headers. This means another week is added to the league phase for the 2020 season. The 13th edition of IPL will stretch across 50 days as compared to 44 last year. Interestingly, there will be only three matches on weekends with double-headers limited to Sundays. The final group match is between RCB and MI.
Other key details regarding IPL 13
Rajasthan Royals have listed out Guwahati as their probable second home venue. Meanwhile, the other seven franchises have stuck to their traditional venues for home games. The playoffs schedule is expected to be announced on a later date. The final is likely on May 24.
