Kolkata Knight Riders appoint David Hussey as chief mentor
Two-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have appointed former Australian cricketer David Hussey as the chief mentor of the side. Hussey, who earlier played for KKR between 2008-10, joins head coach Brendon McCullum in the set-up. Besides Hussey, KKR also appointed former Kiwi pacer Kyle Mills as the bowling coach. Here's more.

IPL: A look at Hussey's journey
Hussey has immense knowledge of the IPL. After his stint at KKR, he featured for Kings XI Punjab. Hussey was also signed as a replacement for Dwayne Bravo by Chennai Super Kings during the IPL 2014 season. In 64 matches, Hussey amassed 1,322 runs at a rate of 122.97. He slammed five fifties. He also picked up eight scalps.
Hussey was a celebrated T20 stalwart
Hussey featured in a total of 267 T20 matches. He scored 6,097 runs at an impressive average of 30.03. He smashed one hundred and 31 fifties. He also accounted for 68 T20I scalps. He was a crucial player in the Big Bash League.
Kyle Mills could prove to be crucial as bowling coach
Kyle Mills will want to do well as the bowling coach and his experience will prove to be immense for KKR. He represented New Zealand in 19 Tests, 170 ODIs and 42 T20Is. The pacer went on to claim 44, 240 and 43 wickets respectively. Notably, the 40-year-old is the second-highest wicket taker for the Black Caps in ODIs. He brings plenty of value.

KKR aiming to do well under the new management
Under McCullum, Hussey and Mills, KKR will be aiming to do well in IPL 2020. The side performed poorly in the 12th edition and lost their way. However, one hopes a fresh start will get the best out of this team.
