Social media alleges DC vs KKR was fixed, we decode!
The IPL 2019 has already witnessed a few controversies. The latest to hit the league is if Saturday's tie between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders, in Delhi, was fixed. The issue popped up after DC wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant allegedly predicted the result of a delivery, which turned out to be true. Social media was lively with these allegations. Here we debunk this claim.
Pant predicts the result of a ball
The incident happened during the fourth over when right before Sandeep Lamichhane bowled the fourth delivery, Pant was heard on the stumps microphone, seemingly saying '"Yeh toh waise bhi chauka hai (This is anyways a four)". Interestingly, the delivery was smacked for four by Robin Uthappa. Following the incident, social media was flooded by allegations that the match could have been fixed.
What did Pant actually say?
While the world is still wondering if indeed the match was fixed, we analyze further. After careful analysis, we have realized that Pant actually referred to it as "Yeh to waise bhi chopa hai.", which translated in English to,"He's anyways a loser.".
Amidst controversy, DC pull off a thrilling win
Keeping the controversy aside, DC came up with an exciting performance as they triumphed KKR by three runs in the Super Over and clinch a thriller. The win takes DC to the second spot in the table, with KKR being the leaders for now. DC's next game is against Kings XI Punjab at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on Monday.
