Russell's carnage helped KKR win against SRH
Russell was on song against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. He smashed a 19-ball 49* to see his side win the game from an unlikely position. KKR scored 53 runs from the final three overs with two balls to spare. It was magnificent power-hitting from the dangerous Russell. He also smashed Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 25 runs in the 19th over.

Kallis stated that he witnessed such carnage from a finisher after a long time. "In terms of finishing, he is one of the most powerful hitters that I have seen. It was a good knock. He timed it well. And there were issues, the light wasn't incredible. But it was some of the best ball striking I have seen in a long time."

In 51 matches for KKR, Russell has amassed 939 runs at a strike-rate of 180.23. He has hit seven four fifties. Russell has also impressed with the ball with 46 scalps to his name. He is a genuine match-winner for the eastern giants.
