IPL 2019: RR beat SRH, here are the records broken
Rajasthan Royals kept their play-offs qualification hopes alive after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in match number 45 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019. This was Rajasthan's fifth win of the IPL 2019 campaign. Batting first, SRH posted 160/8, courtesy of David Warner and Manish Pandey. The hosts got off to a terrific start as they chased with ease. Here are the records broken.
Pandey slams 14th career fifty, Warner surpasses 600-run mark
Manish Pandey (61) slammed his second successive fifty this season. This was his 14th career IPL fifty. David Warner (37) went past 600 runs in IPL 2019 (611). Interestingly, he didn't hit a single boundary in his innings. Shreyas Gopal (2/30) raced to 15 wickets this season. It's the joint-third highest tally. Oshane Thomas (2/28) registered his best bowling figures in the IPL.
Rashid surpasses 400 career IPL dot balls and other feats
Rashid Khan has taken 11 wickets this season. The Afghan leg-spinner has 49 career IPL wickets and is one short of reaching the mark of 50. He also went past 400 career dot balls in IPL. Pandey now has 2,697 career IPL runs. He went past Kieron Pollard (2,684). Shakib Al Hasan now has 59 career IPL scalps. He equalled James Faulkner's tally.
How did the match pan out?
SRH lost Kane Williamson early on, before Warner and Pandey added a solid 75-run stand. After their dismissals, SRH middle order crumbled. It was left to Rashid (17*) to get the side to 160. RR bowlers performed well in this tie to tie SRH down. In reply, Liam Livingstone and Ajinkya Rahane gave RR a strong foundation. That helped the side seal a victory.
