IPL 2019: KKR beat KXIP, here are the records broken
Kolkata Knight Riders beat Kings XI Punjab in match number 52 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019. The victory helped KKR stay alive in the tournament. Batting first, an unbeaten fifty from Sam Curran helped KXIP manage 183/6. KKR batsmen chased down the target with 12 balls to spare. Youngster Shubman Gill was the architect of the victory. A host of feats for KXIP players
Sam Curran (55*) scored his maiden IPL fifty. The Englishman smashed seven fours and two sixes. Mayank Agarwal (36) went past the 300-run mark for KXIP this season (325). He became the third KXIP player to surpass the mark after KL Rahul (522) and Chris Gayle (462). Nicholas Pooran (48) registered his highest individual career IPL score.
Ashwin registers ninth IPL duck and other crucial records
Andre Russell (1/29) raced to 11 wickets in IPL 2019. Sandeep Warrier (2/31) registered his best bowling figures in IPL. It was just his second career IPL match. Mayank became the 36th batsman to be dismissed run-out in IPL 2019. R Ashwin registered his ninth career IPL duck. He equalled a host of players including the likes of Glenn Maxwell and Jacques Kallis.

Lynn surpasses 350 runs in IPL 2019
Chris Lynn and Shubman Gill shared a 62-run stand for the opening wicket. This was their second successive 50-plus stand in IPL 2019. Lynn (46) went past 350 runs in IPL 2019 (364). He became the second KKR player to do so after Andre Russell. Lynn now has 1,239 career IPL runs. He went past SRH skipper Kane Williamson (1,204).
Russell surpasses 500 runs this season, Gill impresses
Gill scored his third IPL fifty this season. The youngster also amassed his fourth career IPL fifty. Russell became the third player in IPL 2019 to surpass 500 runs after David Warner and KL Rahul. The powerful West Indian also went past 1,400 career IPL runs. He surpassed Glenn Maxwell (1,397) and equalled Brad Hodge (1,400).
Ashwin gets to 125 IPL scalps, Shami does well
R Ashwin now has 125 career IPL wickets. He picked up his 15th wicket this season. Mohammed Shami took his 17th wicket in IPL 2019, He equalled Yuzvendra Chahal in terms of wickets taken this season (17).
How did the match pan out?
KXIP lost both their openers quickly with Warrier picking up the wickets. Mayank and Pooran shared a 69-run stand for the third wicket. A blitz by Pooran helped KXIP maintain a healthy run-rate. After their dismissals, KKR looked to consolidate, but Curran had other ideas. In reply, KKR openers got off to a flier. Gill played the anchor role to get his side home.
