IPL 2019: Who all would feature in best XI?
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 is reportedly set to kick-off from March 29, 2019. The event is expected to be over by May 20. Earlier this month, the eight teams had a successful IPL 2019 auction, held in Jaipur. Prior to that, the major work was done in the trade window. Here we pick the best XI for the upcoming season.
Dhoni and Williamson get the nod as leaders
Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni led the side to glory in IPL 2018. And he is our choice as the captain of this Fantasy XI. He has the credentials to deliver once again. Sunrisers Hyderabad's Kane Williamson is our choice as his deputy.
Rahul, Pant lead the batting show
Kings XI Punjab star KL Rahul is the ideal choice as the opener of this side. He amassed 659 runs last term. Delhi Capitals young Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant could partner Rahul atop. Pant smashed 684 runs in IPL 11. Both have the skill to have maximum impact. IPL 2018's top run-scorer Williamson could come in next. His consistency makes him a world-class player.
MSD, AB the senior men in middle order
AB de Villiers and MS Dhoni fill up the slots in a power-packed middle order. Both are match winners and can turn the tide any time they want. Both their match-winning attributes and running between the wickets make them ideal experienced choices.
A look at the three all-rounders
Mumbai Indians stalwart Hardik Pandya is the side's main all-rounder. He had picked 18 wickets last season. Alongside Hardik, we picked Kolkata Knight Riders hero Sunil Narine as the other all-rounder. Narine amassed 357 runs and picked 17 wickets in IPL 11. These two are supported by SRH's ace spinner Rashid Khan. He is known for his exploits with the bat as well.
A look at the bowling
Celebrated Australian T20 bowler Andrew Tye leads the bowling attack. He was the Purple Cap holder last season. Jasprit Bumrah will lend the voice in the pace department. Bumrah's consistency is well known. KKR spinner Kuldeep Yadav fills in the final spot.
