DC vs SRH: Match preview, head-to-head records and pitch report
The IPL 2019 has already given us a lot of surprises as we await more. In match number 16, Delhi Capitals take on former champions Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi on Thursday. SRH are coming off a dominant win against Royal Challengers Bangalore and would aim to do so again. Here we present preview, head-to-head records and pitch report.
SRH annihilate RCB, DC falter against KXIP
SRH created headlines in their last game when they thrashed RCB by a margin of 118 runs, courtesy twin centuries by Jonny Bairstow (114) and David Warner (100*). As for DC, they are coming off an unexpected loss to KXIP by 14 runs, having been in the driver's seat for the entire match and favorites to win, until the final moments.
Chris Morris, Mohammad Nabi among men to watch out
DC's Chris Morris was phenomenal with the ball in the last game, claiming 3/30, and would again be aiming to repeat the show. Further, wicket-keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant would look to play a splendid innings. From SRH, Bairstow and Warner are certainly the batsmen to watch out for. As for their bowling, all-rounder Mohammad Nabi's 4/11 has put some focus on him.
SRH hold the edge over DC
Out of 12 IPL clashes between the sides to date, eight have been won by SRH, while DC have won the remaining four. As for 11 matches played in India, SRH have won seven. Meanwhile, at Kotla, they have played four matches to date, with SRH winning three and DC have just pocketed a win. Therefore, SRH would certainly have a psychological edge.
Another sluggish track at Kotla?
As we have said earlier, Kotla has always been a sluggish track, which mostly assists spin bowling, along with some seam movement. It would be no different for this tie. This is why the sides are likely to go with a bowling dominated playing XI, especially with an extra spinner. This could mean that changes could be likely from the previous playing XI.
Here's the predicted Playing XI
SRH: David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Vijay Shankar, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Yusuf Pathan, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar (c), Sandeep Sharma, Siddarth Kaul. DC: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant, Colin Ingram, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Chris Morris, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra.
