Change the venue of Punjab's home games: PCA to BCCI
The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) has requested the BCCI to reschedule two of its home games in upcoming 2018 Indian Premier League. The dates of these two matches fall between May 12 to May 31, which is the period when Chandigarh's airport will remain shut due to scheduled maintenance. Kings XI Punjab are set to play their first match on April 8, 2018.
Why has PCA made this request?
The Chandigarh airport will remain shut between May 12 to May 31 due to maintenance work. The teams travelling to Punjab would face an issue due to this shut down and that's why the PCA has filed a request to allow these matches to be held somewhere else. Punjab are supposed to play two games at Mohali against KKR and RCB in this window.
What is BCCI's response to PCA's request?
BCCI acting president CK Khanna stated that they will look into the matter citing it as a genuine problem. The BCCI said that matches could be shifted to Lucknow. However, the final decision will be taken on Friday.

The Kings XI Punjab have two games before May 12 against Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals on May 4 and 6 respectively. The two other home games are on May 12 and and May 14. Punjab play the other three home matches in Indore.
