IPL 2018: Daredevils beat Royals in a thriller at Kotla
Delhi Daredevils beat Rajasthan Royals to win a crucial encounter at home in a rain-curtailed match. The hosts put 196/6 in 17.1 overs in a 18-over match, before rain hampered the game once again. After the D/L method, RR needed 151 runs to win in 12 overs and the onslaught from Jos Buttler wasn't enough in the end.
Jos Buttler on song for Royals
Englishman Jos Buttler smashed a 26-ball 67 to give RR the perfect platform. His 18-ball 50 is the fastest by a Royals batsman ever in the IPL. Buttler's heroics saw RR race to 82 runs in just 6.4 overs. He hit four fours and seven sixes at a strike-rate of 257.69. He set up this improbable chase in an exciting manner.
Pant, Iyer in runs for DD
Rishabh Pant scored his third fifty of IPL 2018 and has now raced to 375 runs and in the process has been awarded the Orange Cap. The wicket-keeper batsman hit a 29-ball 69, smashing seven fours and five sixes. He shared a 92 run partnership with Shreyas Iyer for the third wicket. Iyer, meanwhile, hit his fourth fifty to get to 307 runs.
Boult gets the Purple Cap
DD pacer Trent Boult raced to 13 wickets in the IPL and is the holder of Purple Cap once again. The Kiwi fast-bowler was brilliant with the ball and bowled an excellent three-over spell in the match that included a run-out in final over.
