The former South African superstar's impact for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League has been massive ever since he joined them. ABD had a great campaign in 2018
AB de Villiers played 12 matches for RCB last season and he scored an impressive 480 runs. He averaged 53.33 and boasted of a whopping strike-rate of 174.54. He was brilliant on the field as well and that will be a big plus this season.
AB de Villiers in sight of notching 4,000 IPL runs
ABD has 3,953 runs in the IPL. He needs only 47 more to surpass the 4,000-run mark in the tournament. He can join an illustrious list of players, who have gone past this mark. Sunrisers Hyderabad's David Warner (4,014) is the only foreigner who has scored 4,000-plus runs. ABD alongside Chris Gayle (3,994) can join Warner and create history.
ABD can become the top foreign run-scorer
ABD needs only 265 runs to surpass former KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir (4,217) in terms of total IPL runs. He is in fray to be among the top five run-scorers in IPL. He will compete with Gayle to become the leading run-scorer among foreign batsmen.
ABD can become the second foreigner to smash 200 sixes
ABD has smashed 186 sixes in the IPL. He needs just 14 maximums to get to 200 sixes. He will also get to become only the second foreigner to get past 200 sixes in the IPL after Chris Gayle (292). The legend also needs just 24 boundaries to get to 350 fours (326). He requires nine to surpass Virender Sehwag (334).
Other feats in store for ABD
He has played 141 IPL matches and needs another nine to get to the mark of 150. ABD will fight to grab the second spot for most catches in the IPL. He has taken 78 and will challenge Rohit Sharma (79).
