All you need to know about CSK's 'new home venue'
Chennai Super Kings will play their remaining six home matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 season at Pune. This comes after Pune was selected ahead of the other options for CSK amidst the Cauvery water dispute that had led to pro-Tamil activists holding widespread protests in Chennai. The tickets that were purchased for CSK's next game have been put on hold.
CSK hope to find familiarity in Pune
Reports claim that the BCCI decided on CSK's new home venue after holding a meet on Wednesday. Other venues in the list were Trivandrum, Visakhapatnam and Rajkot. MS Dhoni knows the Pune conditions well after having played there for two seasons with Supergiant. The conditions there are pretty similar to Chepauk. Hence it will not be bad for the table toppers.
Players gutted to leave den
A host of CSK players took to social media site Twitter to express their unhappiness on the matches being shifted out of Chennai and hoped that the issue will get resolved soon. They also thanked the fans for unconditional love and support.
Dhoni will look to find solace in Pune
Pune will now have additional six matches in its kitty after already getting the Eliminator and one of the Qualifiers earlier, when the schedule was announced. Last season the Rising Pune Supergiant team won five out of the six matches played here. So Dhoni will know what to expect from the conditions and how he needs to go forward with his team selection.
What next for CSK fans?
CSK fans have been hit the hardest amidst all that has happened. They had to wait for two years to see their team return to the IPL fold and now they have been robbed off all the action.
