IPL: Gujarat Lions defeat Pune to register their first win
Gujarat Lions defeated Rising Pune Supergiant by seven wickets to register their first victory in the 2017 Indian Premier League. GL got a brilliant start from Dwayne Smith(47) and Brendon McCullum(49) who had a 94-run partnership for the first wicket in a chase of 171 runs. Suresh Raina and Aaron Finch then put on a 61 run-partnership to give Gujarat their first win.
Gujarat Lions look to open their account against Pune
Sitting on the last place in the points table, Gujarat Lions will look to open their account as they host Rising Pune Supergiant at Rajkot. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has joined the Lions' squad after being out for an injury, while RPS captain Smith is also fit after missing the last game due to stomach bug. GL has a 2-0 winning record against RPS.
Steve Smith leads RPS to 171 runs
RPS skipper Steve Smith led from the front to give the team a good start and went on to smash 43 runs from 28 balls as RPS scored 171 runs after GL chose to field first. He was accompanied by Rahul Tripathi who scored 33 runs and Manish Tiwary, who scored 31. Ben Stokes and Ankit Sharma scored 25 runs each.
Andrew Tye picks up second hat-trick of the day
Andrew Tye became the 13th bowler to pick up a hat-trick in the IPL as he dismissed three RPS batsmen in the final over of the first innings. He was the second bowler today to take a hat-trick after Samuel Badree. Tye picked up five wickets in four overs, giving away 17 runs to end up as GL's most economical bowler.

Australia's Andrew Tye wrote history as he became the first player in the history of the Indian Premier League to pick up a hat-trick on debut. He finished the match with five wickets.
