IPL: Pune pull off a win against Hyderabad
Rising Pune Supergiant continued their winning streak in the 2017 Indian Premier League as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs. However, the chase was cut short by Stokes and Unadkat, with the latter picking up five wickets including a hat-trick in the final over.
SRH look to spoil the party for RPS
After a loss against Delhi, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Rising Pune Supergiant in a bid to climb up the points table. Pune have won their last three matches and are on the third place on the points table. In their previous encounter at Pune, SRH couldn't defend 177 runs and lost the match in a last over thriller.
SRH bowlers restrict RPS to 148
Hyderabad bowlers put on a fantastic performance to restrict Pune to just 148 runs. After losing Rahul Tripathi and Ajinkya Rahane early, Steve Smith and Ben Stokes put on a 60-run partnership to stabilize Pune's innings. Smith scored 34, while Stokes scored 39. MS Dhoni's 31 run innings off 21 balls helped Pune to put up a defensible target.
Kaul picks up four wickets
Siddarth Kaul was the most successful bowler for Hyderabad with four wickets against Pune. His figures of 4-0-29-4 are his best in the Indian Premier League. Kaul sent back Steve Smith, MS Dhoni, Dan Christian and Shardul Thakur.
Stokes proving his worth?
Ben Stokes became the second player to score 250+ runs and pick up 10 wickets in his debut IPL season after Shane Watson did it in 2008. The costliest player of 2017 IPL auction, Stokes has 283 runs and 10 wickets in just 10 matches.
