IPL: RCB continue their poor form; lose against RPS
Royal Challengers Bangalore continued their poor form as they failed to chase 157 runs against Rising Pune Supergiant in the 34th match of 2017 IPL. RPS won the match by a margin of 61 runs restricting RCB to only 96. RCB kept losing regular wickets during the innings. Virat Kohli was the only player to score double digit, with 55 runs off 48 balls.
RCB desperately look for a win against RPS
With just two wins in eight matches, Royal Challengers Bangalore are desperate for a win as they meet Rising Pune Supergiant at Pune. Both the teams have faced defeat in their last respective matches and will look for a win today to move ahead in the play-offs. RPS had defeated RCB in their first encounter in the 2017 IPL at Bengaluru.
Smith, Tiwary power RPS to 157
Rising Pune Supergiant skipper Steve Smith partnered with Rahul Tripathy and then with Manoj Tiwary to guide the team to 157 runs for the loss of three wickets. Tripathy scored 37 runs, Smith 45 and Tiwary 44 before MS Dhoni put on a short 17-ball-22-run cameo in the death overs. Tiwary and Dhoni put on a 49 run partnership together.
Three wickets for Tahir, two for Ferguson
Imran Tahir picked up three wickets to take his tally to 13 to in this season of the IPL. Playing in his second IPL match, New Zealand's Lockie Ferguson picked up two wickets, giving away just seven runs in four overs.
