IPL: Ben Stokes powers RPS to victory against GL
Ben Stokes scored his maiden century in the Indian Premier League to guide Rising Pune Supergiant to a five-wicket victory against Gujarat Lions at Pune. After losing three wickets for just 10 runs, Stokes came out to bat and went on to score 103-runs in a 162-run chase. He partnered with MS Dhoni and Daniel Christian to take RPS over the finish line.
Pune and Gujarat meet each other in a crucial match
Rising Pune Supergiant will host Gujarat Lions after their landslide 61-run victory over RCB. Lions faced an unfortunate loss against Mumbai in a super-over and will look to continue their domination over Pune. Pune bowlers restrict Gujarat to 161
After a flying start from Brendon McCullum, Gujarat Lions were restricted to just 161 runs as their middle order collapsed. McCullum (45) and Ishan Kishan (31) put on a 55-run partnership for the opening wicket, before their fall started. Contributions from Dinesh Karthik (29) and Ravindra Jadeja (19) helped GL to put on a score of 161.
Three wickets each for Tahir and Unadkat
Pune bowlers Jaydev Unadkat and Imran Tahir ended their spells with three wickets each. In four overs, Tahir gave away 27 runs, while Unadkat gave 29 runs in 3.5 overs.
