IPL- Punjab defeat Mumbai to stay alive in the competition
Kings XI Punjab defeated Mumbai Indians by seven runs to keep their chances of play-offs alive in the 2017 Indian Premier League. Both Lendl Simmons and Kieron Pollard put up an amazing effort as they scored half-centuries for Mumbai. However, in the end, Sandeep and Mohit Sharma's bowling skills in the death overs helped Punjab win the crucial match.
Punjab face Mumbai in yet another must-win game
After defeating Kolkata, Kings XI Punjab will take on Mumbai Indians on their way to qualify for the play-offs. Mumbai are on top of the points table and have already booked their play-off spot, despite losing their last encounter against Hyderabad. In the previous encounter between these two teams, Mumbai had chased down 198 to defeat Punjab by eight wickets.
Maxwell, Saha smash Mumbai bowlers as Punjab score 230
Kings XI Punjab put on an amazing display of batting skills as they scored 230 runs for the loss of three wickets. Wriddhiman Saha anchored Punjab's innings and scored unbeaten 93 runs off just 55 balls. This was his highest score in IPL 2017. Skipper Maxwell remained the second highest scorer of the team as he scored 47 off 21 balls.
Punjab post 2017 IPL's highest score
Punjab went past Delhi Daredevils to score the highest innings total of the 2017 Indian Premier League. Across all the seasons, this is Punjab's third highest total in IPL with the highest being 232/2 against RCB in 2011.
