IPL: KXIP win their opening match against Pune
Kings XI Punjab's skipper Glenn Maxwell and David Miller put on a 79-run partnership to lead the home to to a victory against Rising Pune Supergiant. Maxwell and Miller scored 44 and 30 runs respectively in a chase of 164 runs. Punjab won the match by six wickets, with one over remaining. For Pune, Imran Tahir picked up two wickets.
Punjab to open the IPL 10 campaign against Pune
Kings XI Punjab would play their first match of the Indian Premier League 2017 against Rising Pune Supergiant at Indore's Holkar Stadium. Punjab, which finished last in last year's IPL have appointed Glenn Maxwell as captain this year and have also roped in Sehwag as new head coach. They will look to start their campaign on a winning note at a new home stadium.
RPS put a target of 164 runs for KXIP
Ben Stokes scored his first half century of the 2017 IPL as Rising Pune Supergiant put 163 runs on board after losing six wickets. After put to bat first by Punjab, Pune lost wickets at regular intervals, with only exception of the partnership between Stokes and Manoj Tiwary. They put on 61 runs on board; Tiwary remained unbeaten at 40 runs.
Dhoni becomes first Indian player to play 250 T20 matches
Mahendra Singh Dhoni played the 250th T20 match of his career today. In 250 matches, he has scored 5068 runs, 19 half centuries, with a high score of 73 not out.
